Host Antonia Partridge
Antonia and her beloved Martin
WWOOF host Antonia Partridge enjoys sharing her knowledge and opening her home to like-minded WWOOFers. Sharing the benefits and responsibilities of the homestead and empowering others on a path to self-sufficient and ecologically mindful lifestyles gives her motivation to host.
Antonia's formal education includes a BS in sustainable agriculture from the University of California at Davis. Continuing education is important to her and she has attended a Permaculture designer course, several classes in natural building, starting and sustaining intentional communities, and a mushroom cultivation course.

Antonia on the roof of the house in town
My professional experience includes teaching in the biology and horticulture departments at Mendocino Community College. In addition to teaching, I am the co-founder for the Grange Farm School and I have been employed as a botanist for a local logging company and as a restoration practitioner for the National Park Service. I have also worked as a farm adviser and agricultural researcher for the University of California Cooperative Extension. To gain experience in house building and carpentry I worked for a general contractor. From 2008 - 2012 I was the Farm Manager at Brookside Farm and currently I teach and work as a self-employed consultant focusing on edible landscaping, Permaculture and client education.
On a personal note I like to play music, read and dance. I play guitar and encourage WWOOFers to bring acoustic instruments. Three of my favorite authors are Barbara Kingsolver, Gene Logdson, and Michael Pollan. I go to social dance venues for waltz, two step, salsa, swing, Argentine tango, contra dancing, and many other types of partner dance. Work-traders are welcome to come with us for dances, movies, live music, and nights on the town.
