Accommodations
The house lacks electrical and plumning.
In the summer WWOOFers primarily stay on the land and can make trips into town a couple times per week for hot showers, internet access, evenings out at pub or movie, farmers market and other fun activities, like visiting the landomat.
In town there is one private guest room with a double bed and shared common space with kitchen, bath, dining, living, rooms. We offer wi-fi in the house (bring your own lap-top) and an extensive sustainable living library. Limited space is why the April session is limited to one or two WWOOFers. Access to natural food store, library, movie theater, pub, cafe, etc. is an easy walk from the house.
Living conditions on the land are rustic. There are no finished buildings on the land, although beautiful camping spots abound. Outhouse toilets, solar showers, and a swimming hole are available. There is no telephone and electricity is very limited. Cell phone signal is variable depending on the provider. We appreciate if volunteers provide their own camping gear and bedding. It is pleasant sleeping outdoors in the summer and fall. If there is cold or wet weather we may stay indoors at our house in town.

Food
Camp kitchen, dirt floor, no sink, no fridge.
The community and social aspect of sharing meals is important to us. We prefer to host WWOOFers who can enjoy a diet similar to ours. We strive to use produce from the garden or purchase organic, locally grown, in season products to provide three hearty meals per day.
We provide a diet rich in seasonal vegetables and whole grains as well as, home grown eggs and occasional dairy and meat. If you like extras such as coffee, sweets, juice, beer, tropical/out-of- season produce, or extra dairy and meat, you are welcome to purchase your own.
I have learned that fresh tomatoes in March taste no better then cardboard, and I love avocado on my taco and banana in my pancake. Am a naughty locovore eating the tropical fruit?
The camp kitchen is rustic; there is no hot running water or refrigerator. WWOOFers are expected to share responsibilities of meal preparation and clean up. Time spent in cooking and cleanup will not be included in the work exchange hours.
WWOOFers are encouraged to contribute to menu planning. I like to prepare vegetarian meals such as Thai coconut curry (Damn! tropicals again, they are just so good), sushi, veggie burgers with salad, or omelets with home fries and toast.
